The diverse state-wide measures against right-wing extremism and for the advancement of democracy and human rights are being focused by means of the Lower Saxon ‚State Programme against Right-wing Extremism – for Democracy and Human Rights‘.
These include measures to strengthen the professionals, support for those who drop out, measures to prevent people from joining the right-wing scene, conveying democratic values, helping family members, the commitment to open-mindedness within institutions and the development of victim counselling.
In addition, networking activities are to be expanded and civil society is to be more strongly involved.
A concomitant scientific evaluation is supporting the continuous qualitative optimization of the Lower Saxon projects and activities to combat right-wing extremism and for the advancement of democracy and human rights
An essential component for the implementation of the State Programme is the coordination office at the State Prevention Council, which has the following tasks:
Professional network management
Giving impulses for the qualitative further development of the activities so far and new ones
Public relations work
Involvement of actors from civil society.
